How do I qualify for the transport allowance?
Since January 1, 2009 (article 20 of law n°2008-1330 and its application decree N°2008-1501), an employer is required to cover a portion of transportation costs.
All private-sector employees, including part-timers and trainees, who use public transport to get to their place of work benefit obligatorilyfrom partial reimbursement of these expenses, i.e. 50%.
More than 50% reimbursement is possible depending on internal company policy
The decree is applied by all companies, whatever their size.
- Temporary employees must contact their temporary employment agency, which is their employer, to qualify for reimbursement of public transport season ticket costs.
- Part-time employees, employed at least 50% or more, benefit from the same conditions as full-time employees.
- Employees working less than 50% of a full-time schedule benefit from reimbursement calculated in proportion to the number of hours worked.
The subscriptions covered by the employer are:
- Annual subscriptions
- Monthly subscriptions
- Weekly subscriptions
Transport tickets purchased individually or in books of 10 trips are not reimbursable.
To be reimbursed by your employer, you need to request a TCL season ticket certificate:
- On the tcl.fr website under the heading "Sonnement certificate"
- At a TCL agency when you buy your season ticket
