Free "school outings" pass
For their school outings, students and accompanying adults from public or private primary and secondary schools under contract can travel free of charge on the TCL network, subject to available seats.
What are the conditions for a free "School outing" ticket?
The free "School outing" transport pass is reserved for the following schools and structures:
- public or private elementary school (nursery school and elementary school, i.e. Petite section to CM2) under contract with the State
- public or private secondary schools under contract with the State
- public or private schools under contract with the State
- USEP 69
- UNSS du Rhône
These schools and structures must be located in a commune of the territorial outport of the TCL network.
Only one-day school outings are eligible.
Regular and recurring school trips are not eligible for free travel (e.g.: weekly sports class outside the school).
"School outing" transport tickets are granted according to the availability of seats in vehicles on the regular lines of the TCL network. Thus, on intercity bus routes, places on board are limited and requests are considered on a case-by-case basis.
How to apply for "School outing" transport tickets?
The school must complete the form below and send it by e-mail to [email protected] 30 days before the date of the school outing.
If the request is validated, the school picks up the "School outing" transport tickets either directly from TCL agency, or by registered mail with acknowledgement of receipt (at the school's expense).
How does the "School outing" ticket work?
The "School outing" ticket is loaded onto a refillable ticket.
A refillable ticket allows 10 people to travel together (students and accompanying adults).
Example: for an outing involving 35 people, 4 rechargeable tickets will be supplied to the school.
Refillable tickets on which "School outing" transport tickets are loaded are free of charge.
The group must travel together.
Rechargeable tickets are validated as follows:
- Metro: as many validations as passengers (to open the gates)
- Bus and Tram: a single validation per rechargeable ticket to facilitate boarding.
The "school outing" ticket is valid on all TCL zones during the school period (not valid during school vacations):
- Monday to Friday, from the beginning to the end of the TCL service.
- Saturdays, from the start of TCL service until 12 p.m.
Unused "School outing" tickets can be returned to TCL agency with the next order.
